Did some DIYing this week. After an airplane incident (bye, bye buckle) I co-opted the free-with-purchase Dior star ornament to act as a fastener so I could continue to use my purse/tote. It’s holding up nicely!
Bags need to be able to support however much you can fit in them, in my opinion.
Elaborate dressing rooms should be the norm. Take the opportunity to show off your fabrics and your style, stores.
Jim Thompson using their own fabric to create a panelled silk dressing room.
And Liberty realizing dressing rooms can complement the environment.
A few fun brands:
Petit H: cutie bits of whimsy made from Hermès leftover materials like this Pucci-esque hat or this bucket bag.
Casa Lopez: If only they shipped to London, this umbrella stand would make the rain more bearable.
Patch NYC: Imagine one of these on either side of a bed
Secondhand finds this week include:
Versus by Versace suede patchwork
This photograph, the artist’s last self-portrait, is on the cover of a fabulous Olivia Laing book Aidan gave me. It also reminds me of the cover of A Little Life. I missed my chance with this on TRR for only $137.50 and I regret not buying it then and there.
Really appreciating my hand-me-down Veronica Beard blazer right now. Linking some other jackets with similar military button vibes.
I have decided that I actually cannot pull these off. So if you’d like to give it a shot, do let me know.
Now off to watch SATC and needlepoint.
Love the needlepoint canvas! (Tho I’m not allowed to begin any new needlepoint projects!).
